Silsilat al-Ahadith al-Sahihah

Abdullah bin Abu Qatadah narrates that I was performing ghusl on the day of Jumu’ah, when my father came and asked, “Are you performing ghusl for janabah or for Jumu’ah?” I replied, “For janabah.” He said, “Perform another ghusl, because I heard the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) say: ‘Whoever performs ghusl on the day of Jumu’ah will remain in purity until the next Jumu’ah.’”
