When are previous crimes after Islam taken into account?
Hadith 49
- (مَن أحسن فيما بقِيَ؛ غُفرَ له ما مضَى، ومن أَساءَ فيما بقيَ؛ أُخِذَ بما مضَى وما بقيَ) .
Sayyiduna Abu Dharr (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Messenger (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "Whoever maintains goodness in his (Islam) for the remainder of his life, his past (sins) will be forgiven, and whoever continues to commit evil in the remainder of his life, he will be questioned about both his past and future (sins committed in both periods of his life)."
