Consequence of abandoning prayer
Hadith 488
- (مَن تركَ الصّلاةَ سُكراً مرةً واحدةً؛ فكأنما كانت له الدُّنيا وما عليها فَسُلِبها، ومَن تركَ الصّلاةَ سُكراً أربعَ مرّاتٍ؛ كان حقاً على الله عز وجل أن يُسقِيَه من طِينةِ الخَبَالِ. قيل: وما طينةُ الخَبَالِ يا رسولَ اللهِ؟! قال: عُصارةُ أهلِ جهنّم) .
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Amr, may Allah be pleased with him, that the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "Whoever, in a state of intoxication, misses one prayer, it is as if he had the whole world and whatever is in it, and it was taken away from him. And whoever, due to intoxication, misses four prayers, then it is incumbent upon Allah to make him drink «طينة الخبال»." It was asked, O Messenger of Allah! What is «طينة الخبال»? He, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "The pus of the people of Hell."
