Silsilat al-Ahadith al-Sahihah

Sayyiduna Hudhayfah (may Allah be pleased with him) saw Shabath bin Rib’i spitting in front of himself (during prayer), so he said to him: "Shabath! Do not spit in front of yourself, because the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) forbade doing so and said: 'When a person stands in prayer, Allah Almighty turns towards him with His Face (for as long as) he does not turn away with salam or commit any evil act.'"
