Silsilat al-Ahadith al-Sahihah

Sayyiduna Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that a man asked the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him): "O Messenger of Allah! How many prayers has Allah made obligatory upon His servants?" The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) replied: "Allah has made five prayers obligatory upon His servants." He said: "O Messenger of Allah! Is there any prayer (obligatory) before or after these?" The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) replied: "Allah has made five prayers obligatory upon His servants." The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) repeated this statement three times. That man swore by Allah and said: "I will neither add to nor decrease from these (five prayers)." The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "If he is truthful (in his claim), he will surely enter Paradise."
