- " أبايعك على أن تعبد الله وتقيم الصلاة وتؤتي الزكاة وتناصح المسلمين وتفارق المشرك ".
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Jarir (may Allah be pleased with him), he says: I came to the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) while he was taking the pledge (bay'ah). I said: O Messenger of Allah! Extend your hand so that I may also pledge allegiance to you, and set a condition upon me, for you know best. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "I take your pledge that you will worship Allah Almighty, establish prayer, pay zakat, show compassion to the Muslims, and keep away from the polytheists."

➊ Benefits and Issues:
Prayer (salah) is the fundamental and extremely important pillar of Islam; it is a delusion to think that the structure of Islam can remain standing without prayer.
The statement of Allah, the Exalted, is: «وَأَقِيمُواالصَّلَاةَوَلَاتَكُونُوامِنَالْمُشْرِكِينَ»[سورہ روم : 31] “Establish prayer and do not be among the polytheists.”
The Prophetic statement is: «بين الرجل وبين الشرك والكفر ترك الصلاة۔»[صحیح مسلم] “The distinction between a (Muslim) man and shirk (polytheism) and kufr (disbelief) is the abandonment of prayer.”
This is why the Noble Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam said: “Order the child to pray at seven years of age, and if he reaches ten years and is negligent in prayer, then discipline him for this (offense).” [ابوداود]
In the aforementioned hadith, where the Noble Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam made the worship of Allah a condition at the time of taking allegiance (bay‘ah), he also commanded the establishment of prayer, meaning that among the matters necessary for maintaining the allegiance, prayer holds a special status. By making the conditions of zakat, sympathy and goodwill towards Muslims, and separation from polytheists alongside tawhid (monotheism) and prayer, the importance of these three matters becomes evident. It should be remembered that the boundaries of separation from polytheists extend from avoiding their company and gatherings to matters of civilization and culture, art, lifestyle, and even marriage and funeral practices. In the Indian subcontinent, especially due to geographical proximity to Hindu polytheistic culture, there is negligence regarding this final aspect of separation.
