Silsilat al-Ahadith al-Sahihah

Sayyiduna Busar (may Allah be pleased with him) says that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) spat into his palm and placed his finger on it and said: "Allah the Exalted says: O son of Adam! How can you overpower Me? I created you from this kind of substance, until I perfected you and then (made you correct and) proportioned you. (When you grew up) you put on two garments and began to walk arrogantly on the earth, then you gathered wealth and withheld it, until your soul reached your throat and you began to say, 'Now I give charity,' but where is the time for charity now?" In one narration, instead of "throat," "collarbone" is mentioned.
