Silsilat al-Ahadith al-Sahihah

Sayyiduna Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Which creation's faith is the most astonishing and admirable?" The companions said: "The angels'." He (peace be upon him) said: "What is there for the angels that they would not believe, (for all realities are before them)." They said: "Then it must be the prophets." He (peace be upon him) said: "Revelation is sent to the prophets (because of which everything becomes clear to them), so why would they not believe?" They said: "Then it must be the companions." He (peace be upon him) said: "The companions are with the prophets, (for them nothing remains ambiguous, so) what difficulty do they have in accepting faith? In reality, the most astonishing people in terms of faith are those who will come after you; for them, revelation will be in the form of a book, but they will believe in it and follow it. These are the people whose faith is truly astonishing, (that is, they will embrace faith without seeing any miracle or sign)."
