Silsilat al-Ahadith al-Sahihah

Nuaim bin Dajjajah says that Sayyiduna Abu Mas’ud Uqbah bin Amr Ansari (may Allah be pleased with him) came to Sayyiduna Ali bin Abi Talib (may Allah be pleased with him). Sayyiduna Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) said to him: “Are you the one who says that not even a hundred years will pass over the people before every blinking eye will perish (i.e., all people will be gone within a hundred years)?” Whereas the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) actually said: “Not even a hundred years will pass over the people before every blinking eye that is alive today will perish.” By Allah! The hope of this Ummah will remain even after a hundred years.
