Silsilat al-Ahadith al-Sahihah

Sayyiduna Mujashi‘ bin Mas‘ud (may Allah be pleased with him) says: After the conquest of Makkah, I came to the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) along with my brother and said: O Messenger of Allah! I have brought my brother Mujalid to you so that you may take his pledge of allegiance for Hijrah (emigration). The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: “Those who performed Hijrah have already received its reward and have surpassed others.” I said: Then on what will you take his pledge of allegiance? The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: “I will take his pledge of allegiance for Islam, faith, and jihad.”
