- (إن سَرَّك أنْ تفي بنذْركِ؛ فأعتقي مُحَرَّراً من هؤلاء. يعني: من بني العَنْبرِ) .
Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) says: I heard three things from the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) regarding Banu Tamim, and after these three things, I never bore any grudge against Banu Tamim. (Those things are:) (1) Sayyidah Aishah (may Allah be pleased with her) had vowed to free a slave from the descendants of Isma'il (peace be upon him). Meanwhile, some people from Banu Anbar were taken captive. When they were brought, the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "If you want to fulfill your vow, then free one of these slaves." That is, the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) considered them to be from the descendants of Isma'il (peace be upon him). Once, some camels given in charity were brought to the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him), and their beauty and elegance amazed him. The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "These are the camels of my people." That is, the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) considered them his own. He also said: (3) "They are fierce fighters in the heat of battle."
