How to retain the Quran
Hadith 338
- (إنما مثلُ صاحب القرآن: كمثل صاحب الإبل المُعَقَّلَةِ؛ إن عاهد عليها أمسكها، وإن أطلقها ذهبت) .
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Indeed, the example of the companion of the Qur'an is like that of a camel tied with a rope; if he takes care of it, he will keep it restrained, and if he lets it go, it will run away."
