Hadith 3376

- " إن قريشا أهل أمانة، لا يبغيهم العثرات أحد إلا كبه الله عز وجل لمنخريه ".
Zaid bin Abdur Rahman bin Saeed bin Amr bin Nufail, who belonged to the Banu Adi tribe, narrates from his father. He says: I came to Sayyiduna Jabir bin Abdullah (may Allah be pleased with him) along with some young men from the Quraysh, and at that time he had become blind. We saw that a rope was hanging from the ceiling and in front of it there were loaves of bread or pieces of bread placed. Whenever a poor person asked for food, Sayyiduna Jabir would pick up a piece, hold the rope, and with its guidance reach the poor person, hand him the piece, and then return and sit down again, guided by the rope. I said: May Allah grant you health and well-being, we could have easily handed the piece to the poor person (you could have told us, why did you trouble yourself?). He said: Actually, I went myself with the intention of earning reward, then he said: Shall I not narrate to you a hadith of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him), which I myself heard from him? We said: Why not, (please do narrate). He said: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "Indeed, the Quraysh are trustworthy. Whoever seeks out their faults, Allah, the Exalted, will throw him down on his nostrils (face down)."
