Hadith 332

! فأقول: سُحْقاً) .
The wife of the Messenger, Sayyidah Umm Salamah (may Allah be pleased with her), narrates from her slave Abdullah bin Rafi’, who says: She said, “I used to hear people mentioning the Hawd (the Prophet’s Pond), but I had not directly heard any hadith from the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) on this subject. One day, my slave-girl was combing my hair, and I heard the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) saying: ‘O people!’ I said to the slave-girl: Move back. She said: He (peace and blessings be upon him) has called the men, not the women. I said: (He has called the people and) I am one of them. The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: ‘I will precede you to the Hawd. Keep obeying me! Lest you come to me there and are driven away like a stray camel (kept away from me). I will ask: Why is this happening? I will be told in reply: You do not know what innovations they introduced after you. (Upon hearing this) I will say: Destruction (be upon them).’”
