Era of the Companions after the Prophet was the best
Hadith 3315
- " خير الناس قرني، ثم الذين يلونهم، ثم الذين يلونهم، ثم يجيء قوم يتسمنون: يحبون السمن ينطقون الشهادة قبل أن يسألوها ".
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Imran bin Husain (may Allah be pleased with them both) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "The best of people are those of my generation, then those who come after them, and then those who come after them. After them, there will come people who will love obesity, and they will give testimonies though they will not be asked for them."
