Silsilat al-Ahadith al-Sahihah

Sayyiduna Wathilah bin Asqa’ (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: “Allah Almighty selected Kinana from the descendants of Sayyiduna Isma’il (peace be upon him), and from Kinana He selected Quraysh, and from Quraysh He selected Banu Hashim, and from Banu Hashim He selected me (Muhammad).”
