Silsilat al-Ahadith al-Sahihah

Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) narrates that Abu Jahl said: "If I see (Muhammad, peace and blessings be upon him), I will trample his neck." It was said to him: "There he is (Muhammad, peace and blessings be upon him)." He replied: "I do not see him." The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "If he had done so, the angels would have seized him in front of everyone. If the Jews had wished for death, they would have died."
