Prophet’s role as preacher and distributor
Hadith 3190
- " إنما أنا مبلغ والله يهدي وقاسم والله يعطي، فمن بلغه مني شيء بحسن رغبة وحسن هدى، فإن ذلك الذي يبارك له فيه ومن بلغه عني شيء بسوء رغبة وسوء هدى، فذاك الذي يأكل ولا يشبع ".
It is narrated from Muawiyah bin Sufyan, may Allah be pleased with him, that the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "I am a conveyor (of the message), guidance is from Allah, and I am the distributor, the Giver is Allah. If a person receives something from me with good desire and in a good manner, then there will be blessing in it for him. And if someone receives something with bad desire and in a bad manner, then he is like a person who eats but is not satisfied."
