Silsilat al-Ahadith al-Sahihah

Sayyidah Umm Rafi’ (may Allah be pleased with her) says that I said: O Messenger of Allah! Tell me of an action for which Allah will grant me reward. He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: “Umm Rafi’! When you stand for prayer, say ten times «سبحان الله», ten times «لا اله الا الله», ten times «الحمد لله», ten times «استغفرلله», and ten times «الله اكبر». When you say «سبحان الله» ten times, Allah will say: This is My remembrance. When you say «لا اله الا الله», Allah will say: This is also My remembrance. When you say «الحمد لله», He will say: This is also My remembrance. When you say «الله اكبر», Allah will say: This is also for Me. And when you say «استغفرلله» (I seek forgiveness from Allah), Allah will say: I have forgiven you.”
