Lady Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) narrates: In the last part of his life, the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) used to frequently recite this supplication: “Allah is Pure with His praises, I seek forgiveness from Allah and turn to Him in repentance.” I asked: What is the reason that you recite this supplication so frequently: “Allah is Pure with His praises, I seek forgiveness from Allah and turn to Him in repentance”? The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) replied: “My Lord informed me that I would soon see a sign among my Ummah, and He also commanded that when I see that sign, I should frequently glorify Him with praise and seek forgiveness from Him. Indeed, I have seen that sign (and that is Surah Nasr): ‘When the help of Allah and victory comes, and you see the people entering Allah’s religion in crowds, then glorify your Lord with His praise and seek His forgiveness. Surely, He is ever accepting of repentance.’”
