Remembrance Better Than a Servant: Pre-Sleep Dhikr
Hadith 2976
- (ألا أدُلُّكِ على ما هو خيرٌ لك من خادم؟! تُسَبِّحين ثلاثاً وثلاثين، وتحمدين ثلاثاً وثلاثين، وتكبِّرين أربعاً وثلاثين حين تأخذين مضجعك) .
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) that Sayyidah Fatimah (may Allah be pleased with her) came to the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) and complained about her household chores and requested a servant. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "We do not have any servants. However, shall I not guide you to something that is better for you than a servant? When you lie down on your bed, say «سبحان الله» thirty-three times, «الحمد لله» thirty-three times, and «الله اكبر» thirty-four times."
