Silsilat al-Ahadith al-Sahihah

Ata bin Abi Rabah says that I saw Sayyiduna Jabir bin Abdullah Ansari and Sayyiduna Jabir bin Umair Ansari, may Allah be pleased with them both, competing in archery. One of them sat down out of weariness, so the other said to him: "Have you become lazy?" I heard the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, say: "Everything besides the remembrance of Allah is futile and useless, except for these four things: (1) A man walking between two targets, (2) training a horse, (3) playing and joking with one's wife, and (4) learning to swim."
