Silsilat al-Ahadith al-Sahihah

Ibn Abzi narrates from his father Abzi, may Allah be pleased with him, that (one day) the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) overlooked a verse, and after completing the prayer, he asked: “Is Ubayy among the people?” Sayyiduna Ubayy, may Allah be pleased with him, asked: “Has such-and-such verse been abrogated or have you forgotten it?” The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: “Rather, I have been made to forget it.”
