Hadith 2923

- " أنت كنت أحق بالسجود من الشجرة ".
Sayyiduna Abu Sa'id Khudri (may Allah be pleased with him) says: I saw in a dream that I was under a tree and the tree was reciting Surah Sad. When it recited the verse of prostration, it performed the prostration of recitation and recited this supplication in it: "O Allah! Write a reward for me because of this prostration, remove sins from me through it, grant me anew the ability to be grateful through it, and accept this prostration from me just as You accepted it from Your servant Dawud (peace be upon him)." When morning came, I went to the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) and told him the whole matter. He (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "O Abu Sa'id! Did you also perform the prostration?" I said: No. He (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "You were more deserving of performing the prostration than the tree." Then the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) recited Surah Sad, until he reached the verse of prostration, (then he performed the prostration and) recited the same supplication that the tree had recited.
