Silsilat al-Ahadith al-Sahihah

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Rayhanah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "The arrogant and proud people will not enter Paradise." Someone said: O Messenger of Allah! I like to beautify myself by putting a cover on my whip and making the strap of my shoe nice? The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "This is not arrogance. Indeed, Allah is beautiful and loves beauty. Arrogance is that a person does not recognize the truth and considers other people inferior."
