Silsilat al-Ahadith al-Sahihah

Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that someone said: O Messenger of Allah! Such-and-such woman stands in prayer at night, fasts during the day, gives charity and performs other good deeds, but she harms her neighbors with her tongue. (What do you think about such a woman?) The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "There is no good in such a woman; she is of the people of Hell." After that, he said: Such-and-such woman only performs the obligatory prayers and gives pieces of cheese in charity, but she does not harm anyone. (What about her?) The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "She is of the people of Paradise."
