Difference Between Backbiting and Slander
Hadith 2825
- " من ذكر رجلا بما فيه فقد اغتابه ومن ذكره بغير ما فيه فقد بهته ".
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah, may Allah be pleased with him, that the Noble Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "Whoever mentions the faults found in a person (behind his back), he has committed backbiting against him, and whoever mentions faults about a person that are not in him, he has slandered him with a false accusation."
