Silsilat al-Ahadith al-Sahihah

Narrated from Sayyidah Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her), she says: I was with the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him), when a man sought permission to come to him. The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him), upon seeing him, said: "This man is the worst individual of his family." Then he gave him permission and treated him gently. When he left, I asked: O Messenger of Allah! You said what you said earlier, then you treated him gently. (What is the reason for these two types of behavior?) The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "Aisha! The worst people are those whom others avoid in order to protect themselves from their evil."
