Silsilat al-Ahadith al-Sahihah

Sulaiman bin Ziyad Hadrami said: Abdullah bin Harith bin Jaz Zubaidi (may Allah be pleased with him) narrated to me that he and his companion passed by Yemen, and saw that a group of Quraish had taken off their sheets, twisted them, and were playing patta (a game) naked. Abdullah (may Allah be pleased with him) said: When we passed by them, they said, "These are leaders of a religion, ignore them." Meanwhile, the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) arrived. When they saw him, they dispersed. The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) returned in a state of anger and entered the chamber. I was standing behind the chamber, and I heard him say inside the chamber: "Subhan Allah! (Glory be to Allah!) (These people) did not show modesty before Allah nor before the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him)." Lady Umm Ayman (may Allah be pleased with her) was with the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), and she said: "O Messenger of Allah! Seek forgiveness for them." Abdullah (may Allah be pleased with him) said: Due to some difficulty, he did not seek forgiveness for them.
