- " الرجل أحق بصدر دابته وصدر فراشه وأن يؤم في رحله ".
Abdullah bin Yazid Khatmi, who was the governor of Kufa, says: We came to Qais bin Sa’d bin ‘Ubadah (may Allah be pleased with him) at his house. The muezzin gave the call to prayer. We said to Qais, “Stand up and lead us in prayer.” He said, “I will not lead in prayer those over whom I am not the leader.” A man, who was not of low status and who was called Abdullah bin Hanzalah Ghaseel, said: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: “A man has more right than others to sit in front on his riding animal, to sit on the right side of his special seat (or on its front part), and to lead the prayer in his residence.” Qais bin Sa’d (may Allah be pleased with him), after hearing this hadith, said to his servant, “O so-and-so! Stand up and lead the prayer.”
