Cases where lying is permitted
Hadith 2797
- " رخص النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم من الكذب في ثلاث: في الحرب وفي الإصلاح بين الناس وقول الرجل لامرأته. (وفي رواية) : وحديث الرجل امرأته وحديث المرأة زوجها ".
Narrated from Sayyidah Umm Kulthum bint Uqbah (may Allah be pleased with her), she said: The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) permitted lying in three situations: in war, for reconciliation between people, and when a husband speaks with his wife. And in another narration: when a man speaks with his wife and a wife speaks with her husband.
