Hadith 278

- " الناس أربعة والأعمال ستة، فالناس: 1 - موسع عليه في الدنيا والآخرة،
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Khuraym bin Fatik Asadi (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "There are four types of people and six types of deeds: The four types of people are: (1) Prosperous in this world and the Hereafter, (2) Prosperous in this world and unfortunate in the Hereafter, (3) In hardship in this world and prosperous in the Hereafter, (4) Unfortunate in both this world and the Hereafter. The types of deeds are: (1, 2) Two deeds that make something obligatory, (3, 4) Equal deeds, (5) Tenfold, and (6) Seven hundredfold. (Their details are as follows:) The two deeds that make something obligatory mean: Whoever, being a Muslim and a believer, dies in such a state that he does not associate anyone with Allah, Paradise becomes obligatory for him. And whoever dies as a disbeliever in a state of disbelief, Hell becomes obligatory for him. (3, 4) Whoever intends to do a good deed but is unable to do it, yet his heart feels that good and inclines towards it, one good deed is written for him. And whoever intends to do an evil deed, it is not written until he actually does it, and if he does it, then one evil deed is written for him; it is not written in an increased manner (like good deeds). (5) Whoever actually does a good deed will receive tenfold reward, and (6) whoever spends in the way of Allah will receive up to seven hundredfold reward."
