Carelessness in speech leads to ruin
Hadith 2749
- " إن الرجل ليتكلم بالكلمة من رضوان الله ما كان يظن أن تبلغ ما بلغت يكتب الله له بها رضوانه إلى يوم يلقاه وإن الرجل ليتكلم بالكلمة من سخط الله ما كان يظن أن تبلغ ما بلغت يكتب الله له بها سخطه إلى يوم يلقاه ".
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Bilal bin Harith Muzani (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "A man utters a word that pleases Allah, and he does not even think that it (i.e., its good effect) will reach so far. But because of it, Allah writes His pleasure for him until the Day of Resurrection. And (sometimes) a person utters a word that angers Allah, and he does not even think that this word (i.e., its bad effect) will reach so far, but because of it, Allah writes His displeasure for him until the day he meets Him."
