Silsilat al-Ahadith al-Sahihah

Hisham narrates from his father that Sayyidah Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) said: O Messenger of Allah! All your other wives have a kunyah (honorific name). The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Take the kunyah Umm Abdullah after your son Abdullah (who is the son of Zubair)." After that, she was called Umm Abdullah until her death, even though she had no children of her own.
