Fulfilling wife’s wishes, reality and ruling of music
Hadith 2581
- (يا عائشةُ! أتعرفين هذه؟ قالت: لا، يا نبيَّ اللهِ! قال: هذه قينةُ بني فلان، تحبِّين أن تُغنِّيكِ؟ قالت: نعم، قال: فأعطاها طبقاً فغنَّتها، فقال النبيُّ - صلى الله عليه وسلم -: قد نفح الشَّيطانُ في مِنخرَيها) .
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Sa’ib bin Yazid (may Allah be pleased with him), he says: A woman came to the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him). He (peace be upon him) asked: “Aisha! Do you know her?” She said: O Messenger of Allah! No. He (peace be upon him) said: “She is the singer of such-and-such tribe. Do you want her to sing for you?” She said: Yes. So he (peace be upon him) gave her a dish, and she sang over it. Then the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: “Indeed, Satan has blown into her nostrils.”
