Hadith 2580

- (يا حُمَيراءُ! أتحبِّينَ أن تنظُرِي إليهم؟! يعني: إلى لعِبِ الحبشةِ ورقصِهم في المسجدِ) .
It is narrated from the wife of the Messenger, Sayyidah Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her), she says: The Abyssinians entered the mosque and began to play. The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said to me: "Humaira! Would you like to watch them?" I said: Yes. Then the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) stood at the door, I came and placed my chin on the shoulder of the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) and put my face against his cheek. She says: On that day, among the things they said was: O Abu al-Qasim! (May Allah make you) pure. Then the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) asked me: "Is it enough?" I said: O Messenger of Allah! Do not hurry. So the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) stood for me, and (after a while) again said: "Is it enough now?" I said: O Messenger of Allah! Do not hurry. She says: (Actually) I did not have a desire to watch them, I only wanted the women to know what status the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) has with me and what value I have in his sight.
