How long does one remain an orphan?
Hadith 2574
- (لا يُتمَ بعدَ احتلامٍ، ولا يُتمَ على جاريةٍ إذا هي حاضت) . أخرجه الطبراني في "الكبير" (4/16/3502) : حدثنا محمد بن عبد الله الحضرمي: ثنا محمد بن أبي بكر المقدَّمي: ثنا سَلمُ بن قتيبة: ثنا ذيَّالُ بن عُبَيد قال: سمعت جدي حنظلة يقول: قال رسول الله - صلى الله عليه وسلم -: ... فذكره.
It is narrated from Dhiyal bin Ubaid, he says: I heard my grandfather Sayyiduna Khanzalah (may Allah be pleased with him) saying that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "There is no orphanhood after reaching maturity, and (similarly) when a girl starts menstruating, the ruling of orphanhood no longer applies to her."
