Apologizing to the oppressed in this world
Hadith 2514
- (رحِمَ اللهُ عبداً كانت لأخيهِ عندَه مظلمَةٌ في عِرضٍ أو مالٍ، فجاءه فاستحلَّه قبل أن يُؤخذَ، وليس ثمَّ دينارٌ ولا درهمٌ، فإن كانت له حسناتٌ؛ أُخذ من حسناتهِ، وإن لم يكن له حسناتٌ؛ حمَلُوا عليه من سيئاتهم) .
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: “May Allah have mercy on the person who has wronged his brother in respect of his honor or wealth, and then goes to him and seeks his pardon before (the day comes) when he will be held accountable and where there will be neither dinar nor dirham. (There, the matter will be settled in such a way that) if he (the oppressor) has good deeds, they will be taken from him, and if he has no good deeds, then (the oppressed) people will cast their sins upon him.”
