It is narrated from Sayyiduna Wathilah bin Asqa’, he says: I was among the Ashab al-Suffah. I saw that our condition was such that none of us had a complete garment, and due to dust, dirt, and sweat, lines would appear on our bodies. (One day) suddenly, the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) came to us and said: “Glad tidings for the poor Muhajirun.” Suddenly, a man in fine clothing came to us. Whatever the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) would say, he would, with affectation, speak words superior to the Prophet’s words. When he left, the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: “Indeed, Allah dislikes him and those like him, who twist their tongues for people like grazing cows in the pasture. Allah will also twist their faces and tongues in the Fire.”
