Lying is a grave crime
Hadith 2472
- " ما كان خلق أبغض إلى رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم من الكذب، وما اطلع منه على شيء عند أحد من أصحابه، فيبخل له من نفسه حتى يعلم أن (قد) أحدث توبة! ".
Sayyidah Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) says: There was no habit more hated and detested by the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) than lying. When he would come to know of this about any of his companions, he would reduce his interaction with him until it became known that he had repented.
