Husband and wife are confidants
Hadith 2470
- (ألا هل عَسَتِ امرأةٌ أن تُخبرَ القوم بما يكونُ من زوجها إذا خلا بها؟! ألا هل عسى رجلٌ أن يخبرَ القوم بما يكونُ منهُ إذا خلا بأهله؟ ! فقامت منهنَّ امرأةٌ سفعاءُ الخدَّين فقالت: واللهِ! إنَّهُم ليفعلون، وإنهنَّ لَيفعلْنَ! قال: فلا تفعلوا ذلكَ، أفلا أنبئُكم ما مَثَلُ ذلكَ؟ ! مَثَلُ شيطانٍ أتى شيطانةً بالطريق؛ فوقعَ بها والناس ينظرون!) .
Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) entered the mosque, where some Ansari women were present. He admonished them and gave them advice, then instructed them to give charity, even if it be from their jewelry. Then the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Is there any woman who tells people about what happens in privacy with her husband? Is there any man who tells people about what happens in privacy with his wife?" Then one of those women, whose cheeks were dusty, stood up and said: "By Allah! Men do this and women do this too." The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Do not do this. Shall I not tell you its example? The one who does this is like a devil who meets a female devil on the road and has intercourse with her while people are watching them."
