Silsilat al-Ahadith al-Sahihah

Sayyiduna Mu'adh bin Jabal (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) sent me to a people. I said: O Messenger of Allah! Advise me. He (peace be upon him) said: "Spread salam (greetings of peace) generally, feed (others), have as much modesty before Allah as you have before the people of your household, when you commit a sin then (to remove its effect) immediately do a good deed, and improve your character as much as you are able."
