Continuous sin invites general punishment
Hadith 2335
- (ما من قوم يعُمل فيهم بالمعاصي؛ هم أكثر وأعز ممن يعمل بها، ثم لا يغيرونه؛ إلا يوشك أن يعمهم الله بعقاب) .
Ubaydullah bin Jurayd narrates from his father that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "When evil deeds are committed among a people, and those who do not commit evil are greater in number and stronger (and more honorable) than those who do, yet they still do not stop them, then it is near that Allah, the Exalted, will afflict all of them with a general punishment."
