Hadith 23

Abu Tamimah Hajimi narrates from a resident of Balhajim, he says: I said: O Messenger of Allah! What do you call towards? The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "I call only towards Allah, (that Allah) if harm reaches you and you call upon Him, He removes your harm. If you lose (your mount) in a barren land and you call upon Him, He returns (your mount) to you. And if you are afflicted with drought and you call upon Him, He (sends down rain and) causes vegetation to grow from the earth."

Hadith Takhrij «
Explanation & Benefits
Hafiz Mahfooz Ahmad
Benefits:

Allah Ta'ala, due to being characterized by the aforementioned three and countless other attributes, is worthy that He be invoked beyond apparent means for the removal of afflictions.

One should keep in mind the following law of Allah Ta'ala regarding supplications (du'a):

Sayyiduna Abu Sa'id Khudri radi Allahu anhu narrates that the Messenger of Allah sallallahu alayhi wa sallam said:

That is: "Whenever a Muslim supplicates, and his supplication does not involve sin or severing of kinship, then Allah Ta'ala grants him (in response) one of three things:

➊ He quickly grants him the reward of his supplication (in this world), or

➋ He stores its reward for him until the Hereafter, or

➌ He averts from him, to the extent of that supplication, some evil."

The Companions said: Then we will make many supplications. He sallallahu alayhi wa sallam said: "Allah's bounty is even greater than that."
