- " لا، إنه كان يعطي للدنيا وذكرها وحمدها، ولم يقل يوما قط: رب اغفر لي خطيئتي يوم الدين ".
Lady Umm Salamah (may Allah be pleased with her) says: I said to the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him): Hisham bin Mughirah used to maintain ties of kinship, host guests, free slaves, and feed people, and if he had found the era of Islam, he would have become a Muslim as well. Will these deeds prove beneficial for him? The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: “No, he used to give for worldly purposes, fame and reputation, and flattery and praise; he never said even for a single day: O my Lord! Forgive my sins on the Day of Resurrection.”

Benefits:
The above-mentioned hadith has clarified the issue; in this hadith, several scenarios of good deeds performed in a state of disbelief have been described.
The final words of the blessed hadith, "He did not say even for a single day: O my Lord! Forgive my sins on the Day of Resurrection," indicate that he was not a monotheist (muwahhid); otherwise, for one who dies in a state of shirk (polytheism), such a supplication is of no benefit.
