Silsilat al-Ahadith al-Sahihah

Sayyiduna Abu Rafi’ (may Allah be pleased with him) says that the Quraysh sent me to the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him). When I saw him, love for Islam was placed in my heart. I said: O Messenger of Allah! By Allah, I will never return to them. The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: “I do not break covenants, nor do I detain messengers. Go back, and if you still have the same (desire to accept Islam) in your heart as you do now, then return.”
