Silsilat al-Ahadith al-Sahihah

Sayyiduna Abu Razin (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Our Lord laughs at the despair of His servants and the nearness of the changing of their condition from Himself." Sayyiduna Abu Razin said: "Does Allah also laugh?" He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Yes." Then he said: "We will never find goodness lacking with a Lord who laughs." And in another narration: "And Allah knows about the day of rain, He looks at you while you are in a state of distress, despair, and fear, so He begins to laugh, for indeed He knows that the change of your (difficult) condition (to ease) is near."
