- " ما في الناس مثل رجل آخذ بعنان فرسه فيجاهد في سبيل الله ويجتنب شرور الناس . ومثل رجل باد في غنمه، يقري ضيفه ويؤدي حقه ".
Habib bin Shihab Anbari says that I heard from my father, he says: My friend and I went to Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them), and at the door of Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them) we met Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him). He asked: Who are you? We introduced ourselves. He said: Go to those people who have only dates and water, (here) every man is barely managing his own sustenance. We said: Your treasures are more, so do this much that you seek permission for us from Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them). He sought permission, and we heard Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them) narrating a hadith of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him): The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) addressed (the people) on the day of Tabuk and said: “The person who holds the reins of his horse and strives in the path of Allah, and avoids the evils of people, he is unparalleled among people. And that person is also unparalleled, who settles in a deserted place, tends to his sheep and goats, hosts guests, and fulfills their rights.” I said: Did you really hear the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) say these things? He said: (Yes) he said them. I asked again: Did you really hear him say these things? He said: (Yes) he said them. I asked again: Did you really hear the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) say these things? He said: (Yes) he said them. I said Allahu Akbar and Alhamdulillah and thanked Him.
