Sayyiduna Jabir bin Samurah (may Allah be pleased with him) says: Some hair on the front part of the head and the blessed beard of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) had turned white. When he (peace be upon him) applied oil and combed his hair, they were not apparent, but when his hair was disheveled and dusty, they could be seen. The hair on his head and beard was thick (i.e., dense). A man said: Was the face of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) shining like a sword? Then he said: No, rather it was shining and round like the sun and the moon. He said: And I saw the seal (of Prophethood) of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him); it was between his shoulders like a pigeon’s egg and resembled the rest of his body.
