Silsilat al-Ahadith al-Sahihah

It is narrated from Sayyida Umm Salamah (may Allah be pleased with her) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: “(After covering the feet) the last part of a woman’s garment should be one handspan longer.” I said: In that case, their feet might become uncovered? The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: “Then a forearm’s length, but they cannot let it hang more than that.”
